Is what you’re going through a spiritual awakening or mental illness? Since our medical system doesn’t deal with spiritual awakenings, many people who are awakening are being mistakenly treated for mental illness.
In his book, Kundalini: Psychosis or Transcendence? Lee Sannella, writes, “There are many undergoing this process who at times feel quite insane… We must reach such people, their families and society, with information to help them recognize their condition as a blessing, not a curse.”
On my own journey, I’ve experienced states of blissful peace and love alongside agonizing pain, both physical and emotional. I’ve trusted my intuition enough to allow the pain rather than suppress it, and it always cleared on its own.
I’ve had periods of what many would consider depression, anxiety, even suicidal thoughts and come through them all without any pharmaceutical drugs. I’ve had moments of grief that felt so excruciating that for a few seconds, I thought I was going to lose my mind. The key is to keep going. Whatever you’re experiencing, let it run its course.
When kundalini awakens in you, it will lead you to clearing out every traumatic experience you’ve ever had. Several times along the way I recall saying with a heavy sigh, “Seriously God? This too?” I thought I could get away with just clearing most of the main stuff. I didn’t realize that kundalini wanted to clear every single painful memory stored in my cells.
It’s really important to consider this perspective on whatever you’re dealing with, because simply suppressing the symptoms could lead to prolonged suffering rather than the liberation and true healing that they are meant to bring you.
What you might need is a spiritual mentor, rather than a doctor.
